From 2 feet of snow ❄️ to Daytona sunshine (New direct flight!)

Well, 2026. You've come in with some explaining to do.

I'm going to keep it short and sweet this time, because I have to go back out and shovel my car. Again. New England got hit with almost two feet of snow this week, with more on the way this weekend.

It really makes me want to just drop my shovel and fly back down to Daytona Beach. We had the best time there last month as an extended family crew. If you're Boston based, they just added a new direct flight to Daytona! I don't need any better excuse to escape the cold than that.

Things have been upside down in the world and in the U.S. lately. It feels heavy. Sometimes talking travel seems trivial. But I ALWAYS champion that travel is also transformative when you get off the resort, even for a little bit. It offers connection, curiosity, and even humility. I'm going to keep sharing that.

Hang in there,

-Eileen

Beyond the Track: Best Things to Do in Daytona Beach for Families & Foodies

by Eileen Cotter Wright

The miles of endless sandy beaches would surely be the best memory from traveling to Daytona Beach, Florida. But what my kids wouldn’t stop talking about was unlimited cinnamon buns at Aunt Catfish’s!

Every time I go to the Daytona Beach area I’m pleasantly delighted. I’ve had family in the area forever, which started my adventures as a college senior descending upon Bike Week concluding an epic road trip, all the way up to my most recent visit with two young kids and a husband in tow ready for the beach.

Not Just Roses: Valentine’s Experiences & Gifts Worth the Splurge

by Eileen Cotter Wright

Luxury isn’t about flashy, splashy gifts for Valentine’s Day. It’s about timeless things that give you a truly important gift in return: time. Time back for convenience, time for relaxation, and time to cherish experiences with loved ones. This is why I give with purpose, especially to those close to me.

If you’re looking to level up this lovey-dovey season, I have some high-end suggestions for practical (yet stylish) gifts and experiential surprises that will add a touch of richness to your holiday.

QUICK TRAVEL TIPS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

➡️The days of hailing a taxi or even waiting for the Uber driver at the airport are over. Especially when I'm traveling with the kids, I need my airport transfers handled way in advance. I find Get Transfer helpful, especially internationally.

➡️Speaking of transportation, I'm intentionally working toward supporting more local businesses this year. And not just for buying souviners: with tours, hotels, and even car rentals. This site offers options for local rental companies next time you travel away from the big chains.

May 2026 Pure Wander Travel Check out the latest on Instagram Hey Reader - On the road again! Las Vegas was something else; my first time back in 20 years! But this trip was much more laid back. We stayed in a gorgeous hotel off-strip, took a jeep tour into Red Rocks, and did some retro sightseeing at the Neon Museum. Heck, we avoided the strip all together! Next week I'll be on a panel at WITS: The Women in Travel Summit. It's one of my favorite gatherings all year. This time we take over...

April 2026 Pure Wander Travel Check out the latest on Instagram Hey Reader - This is the longest I've been at home for a WHILE. No planes since January! That's changing next month, but it's made space for lots of other good things. I've had a blast seeing some Boston attractions with my kids (The Museum of Ice Cream and the new pop-up Barbie Café) and playing tourist locally. We're outside more often, working on a wildflower garden at home, and having more playdates. I even lost my mind and...
