September Newsletter 2025

It's go time! Two trips for October and a few more to close out the year. It's keeping me on my toes. I'm thrilled to have some fresh adventures to inspire some curiosity and new stories: they are all new destinations for me! More on that next month. Keep in touch on social to see the fun stuff in real time.

The South Wales guide is ready: I think you'll really enjoy it. If you've been to London already a few times or have an extended time in the UK, you should definitely check out Wales and all its glory. Check a new country off your list, see some castles, and drink a pint or two!

Behind the scenes: We are accepting new writers for Pure Wander! If you have a writing background (or not!) and have an amazing travel story or itinerary to share, I'd love to see it. Feel free to email me your pitch or idea anytime. It's a modest paid gig and I hope to commission at least two contributors a month. Share with friends!

Cozying up in my biggest, fluffiest sweater,

NEW! An (almost) local’s guide to castles, pubs, and hidden gems

by Eileen Cotter Wright

Having traveled to South Wales more than twenty times, I’ve had the immense privilege of getting to know it intimately. Through my family connections and time living in the UK, I’ve navigated its breathtaking, rugged coastlines and stumbled into its unforgettable pubs, but I’ve also found its lesser-known experiences well worth a look.

This itinerary is for the traveler who wants to see it all. I’ll offer tips on the iconic castles and unforgettable experiences, but I’ll also challenge you to step off the well-worn path and see parts of South Wales as a local does.

Throwback: The Best Adventures for Fall on the West Coast

by Ashley Ryan

Every season has its travel pros and cons. In spring, wildflowers bloom. Summer heat ensures fun in the sun. And winter brings bundled up babes, cozy handholding, snow wonderlands and evenings in front of the fire. What’s not to love?

But then there’s fall. This kind of seasonal adventure offers so much more for the whole crew. Take your time enjoying each activity, savoring every meal and creating lasting memories in these special West Coast locations. From Mexico to Canada, each one is an ideal spot to unwind as autumn leaves fall down.

May 2026 Pure Wander Travel Check out the latest on Instagram Hey Reader - On the road again! Las Vegas was something else; my first time back in 20 years! But this trip was much more laid back. We stayed in a gorgeous hotel off-strip, took a jeep tour into Red Rocks, and did some retro sightseeing at the Neon Museum. Heck, we avoided the strip all together! Next week I'll be on a panel at WITS: The Women in Travel Summit. It's one of my favorite gatherings all year. This time we take over...

April 2026 Pure Wander Travel Check out the latest on Instagram Hey Reader - This is the longest I've been at home for a WHILE. No planes since January! That's changing next month, but it's made space for lots of other good things. I've had a blast seeing some Boston attractions with my kids (The Museum of Ice Cream and the new pop-up Barbie Café) and playing tourist locally. We're outside more often, working on a wildflower garden at home, and having more playdates. I even lost my mind and...
